The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley tells the story of the Samuel and Loo Hawley, a father/ daughter duo who, after moving from location to location following the death of Loo's mother, finally settle down in Olympus, Massachusetts. But the Hawleys aren't like the other families that live in Olympus. Loo is a loner who develops a reputation after standing up to her school bullies. And Samuel remains an enigma that even his closest neighbors don't trust or understand.
But the Hawleys have more to worry about than just fitting in their new town. Marked on Samuel's body are 12 bullet wounds, each telling a story from the mysterious former life that Hawley is trying to escape. But the past never stays behind us. As Loo begins investigating the death of her mother, the demons that Hawley so desperately tried to protect Loo from starts to catch up with him, threatening to shake the core of his family.
Part coming of age novel, part thriller, The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley is a moving look at the lengths we will go to keep our family safe.
